Women's
Rides & Rallies
As our numbers grow as
women motorcyclists, so too does the events that
celebrate our existence. We gather from near and far to
learn from one another, to share our stories, to help
out our fellow human beings and simply to connect with
other sisters on the road. Here are the rides and
rallies that have made that happen over the
years.

#1 AMA International
Women & Motorcycling
Conference -
Colorado
The grand madam
of all women’s
events. With much
ado, our
anticipation builds
as we try to
patiently wait for
it to come every
three years.
Established in 1997,
the AMA’s main focus
of the conference is
to merge groups,
clubs and
organizations-
all colors of the
world, to
participate in a
variety of
activities specially
designed for women
of the open road.

anniversary of a
unique and diverse

inception, women
have been head over
wheels forming bonds
with kindred spirits

#5 Motor Maids
Convention - Indiana
These ladies are
considered “The
Royalty” of the
women’s motorcycling
community. Reigning
as the original
women’s club since
1941, both women and
men flank to their
sides to bask in
their presence and
wisdom. Each year a
convention is held
by a different
district around the
US where it is
mandatory that
all Motor Maids who
attend must ride
their motorcycle to
and fro. This too,
shows why they are
held in such high
esteem.

#6 WITW Alberta
Rally - Canada
This Canadian
gathering epitomizes
the traditional
rally appeal with
poker runs,
scavenger hunts,
contests, banquets
and much more… but
there’s a catch! It
is a “women’s only”
festivity. Women In
the Wind converge
from the US and
Canada to commune
and celebrate being
a woman rider of all
makes and models.
Hmm… wonder why it
is said that “What
happens in Alberta,
stays in Alberta…?”

9 International
Female Ride Day -
Worldwide JUST
RIDE! Across the
planet, women are
encouraged to “just
ride” no matter what
style of the iron
beast you call your
own: sport, scooter,
cruiser, dirt or
street. Go for it!
Let the world know
we are beyond
borders on the
highways, by-ways
and backroads
tearing it up. Vicki
Gray‘s, organizer of
the first
International Female
Ride Day, aim was to
create awareness of
our existence and
inspire others to
take up
motorcycling. So
grab your gear girls
and head off to
work, the gym, the
museum, to meet
friends- anywhere
the road may take
you. Always the
first Friday in May.
