Vegetarian Motorcyclist

More people are becoming vegetarians these days. Some make the choice for health reasons, spiritual aspects, animal rights or other ethical considerations that drive a person to change. We are each on a unique road, with different wheels of wisdom to roll, with different people and on different stretches of highway. The entire message of vegetarianism is not just about eating veggies, or on one certain cause, it is in being a distinctive part of this community that makes up the whole. And there is not just one set standard to being a vegetarian either, the diverse types range from Lacto, Ovo, Pesce, Vegan and even a Fruitarian-vagan. In addition to this life style decision, also comes a heightened awareness toward the products that one might purchase. HH has a few products that might intrigue you, the vegetarian motorcyclist and maybe even those who just like to try new stuff.

The Road Goddess Guide

To look and feel calm, collected and composed at journey’s beginning to end, try these soothing, sensible ways to depart and arrive at your best.

Mind

Motorcycling provides the solitude essential for maintaining that better attitude and a clear sense of self. “Six Symptoms of Riding Over Your Head” developed by Dr. Wong, (chiropractor and riding instructor) synthesizes individual experiences and knowledge into information that can be parceled out to other motorcyclists. The Six Symptoms are a mental checklist that you can go through while you are riding to continually assess yourself and your level of risk.

The symptoms are:

Too tight grip on the bars, as though hanging on for dear life.

High level of anxiety.

Mid-course corrections, wiggling around a turn instead of one smooth sweep.

Braking in a turn because you think you're going too fast.

Tunnel vision.

Chopping the throttle.

If you experience any or all of the Six Symptoms, the doctor says, "Slow down! The experienced rider knows when to slow down." Remember your skill level and embrace the ride.

Body

The miles of road beckon from the brink of spring, rejuvenate and explore your earth…

Hair:
Humid weather can cause a gals hair to frizz up. So how in the heck are we gonna fit that in a helmet? To tame this beast that resides on our heads, we use a silicone based shiner, such as Simply Straight by Marc Anthony, in drop or spray form. Just apply through hair and style as usual. F.Y.I: Works especially well in braids.

Skin:
Dry skin and winter blues still getting you down? Lets lift our spirits and nourish our skin all at the same time. There are a couple of products out now, containing a unique ingredient called Tephroline, found in the wild-indigo plant from the Himalayas. Yes, sounds exotic doesn’t it? You deserve it! Tephroline stimulates the release of pleasure inducing beta-endorphins in the skin. So, soften your skin and enjoy the ride, try Molton Brown Inspiring Wild Indigo Bath & Shower Therapy or Dior Sweet Sun Treatment Fragrance.

Face:
Focus on the eyes: We squint a lot going down the highways and byways from sun, wind and glare, even when we are wearing sunglasses or full face helmets. Since the skin around the eyes is so delicate, fine lines and wrinkles begin at an early age. HH recommends dabbing essential eye cream under the eyes and towards the side of the face morning and night to reduce road age, check out The Body Shop’s Skin Focus Line Minimizer.

Soul

HOLISTIC BIKER:  Have a vision of wholeness, the combination of all parts with understanding and experience. Know yourself, know your bike and cater to the spirit that binds everything together.

FEED YOUR INNER SPIRIT: Reverence is essential between you, your bike and the nature of the road.

Riding a bike is freedom, liberty, power, adventure, and speed. However, you have to respect the rules. I never forgot that on the motorcycle I am the body. If I am aware of these things, I will have a long life with my motorcycle.

Riding a motorcycle is a perfect symbiosis between the rider and the machine. There is an important difference between cars and motorcycles. Cars forgive mistakes; motorcycles don’t.               -Arturo Bartolomé Asín
