In Canada,
Kalene L. Dunsmoor's name is synonymous with art. Passionate
about the subject since she can remember, it was with
the support and guidance of her
high school Art teacher, that helped Kalene discover
her inner artiste through painting mural projects.
Today, Dunsmoor's talents range from the digital
realm and photography, to paint and even sculpture.
Her unique ability to capture the essence
of her subjects in a gentle and dramatic way often
results in bold statements.
While attending York University for Visual Arts in
Canada, she was approached by
Chess Innovations, a
new airbrushing company, for a shot at freelance work.
Through trial and
error, she soon mastered the airbrush gun, with her
first few bikes winning awards at numerous shows
including the International Motorcycle Super Show.
Kalene's edgy
style of airbrush has added a touch of realism in a classic
rock-n-roll distinction to many a motorcycle.
Kalene now credits her freelance airbrushing craft,
not only for paying her way through school, but also
for making her a better artist. One day she hopes to own
her very own paint shop, but until then, she
continues her freelance jobs under the title, Vixen
Paint. Her newcomer status to the motorcycle world has
Kalene pondering the idea of riding a motorcycle
herself, “After painting so many
bikes that I have customized for other people, I would
love to be able to go all out on my own bike and do
something really unique and creative.”
She currently attends The Academy of
Realist Art and resides in Toronto, Canada, where she
is expanding her horizons in the computer art world and
continues to branch out in other artistic areas. While
her freelance work in motorcycles slows down during
the riding season, she focuses on airbrushing guitars! Now that rocks! You can see her commissions
at various bike shows in
Canada on display at The Durham Cruisers
and showcased in local Canadian
galleries. For more on Kalene, visit her web site:
